Following the final audit of the Central Finance and Contracts Agency, the third building of the ZAZA TIMBER factory has now been officially opened. The new building is 65 meters long and 34 meters wide, the roof ridge column is 12.76 meters high.
This is the largest factory in Latvia producing glued laminated timber (glulam). 2.45 million euros were invested in the construction of the new wing, of which almost 1.1 million are financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
Armands Krauze, Minister of Agriculture, Irina Pilvere, rector of the Latvian University of Biosciences and Technologies, Juris Iljins, Administrative Director of Riga Technical University, a co-founder of the company, Andrejs Domkins, Director of the Research and Development Institute of Forest and Wood Products, co-founder of the company, Marina Vorobyova-Vaišļa, Director of the Department of Financial Instruments and Digitization Projects of the Central Finance and Contracts Agency and Māris Peilāns, chairman of the board of ZAZA TIMBER Production SIA, founder of the company gave speeches at the event.
The ZAZA TIMBER brand represents a group of timber structural design, glulam manufacturing and timber structure assembly companies.
ZAZA TIMBER glulam manufacturing factory is located at the border of Jelgava city in Latvia. It produces up to 32 meters long curved and straight glued laminated timber (glulam) structures for buildings and bridges around the world. As the company has increased its production volume over recent years, the new wing will provide space for post-production works (surface treatment, finishing). The company’s turnover in 2023 was EUR 4.24 million. It paid EUR 920 093 in taxes and employed 60 people.

With the support of the European Regional Development Fund, the company implemented the project “Expansion of production facilities in the company SIA “ZAZA TIMBER Production SIA””, project no. No. 3.1.1.5/19/A/033.
The aim of the project is to expand the activity of the woodworking company ZAZA TIMBER Production SIA and develop the production of new products by creating new production facilities for the adjacent production facility in Jelgava county. The implementation of the project is related to increasing the capacity of an existing place of business by offering innovative products.
